Viva is growing and growing! We haven't been to the pediatrician in a long time, so we're not sure how much she weighs... but last time we checked her weight was in the 98th percentile. Her next appointment is at the end of the month, so we'll keep you updated.
We met with Viva's caretaker-to-be last week. I (jane) go back to work on February 1st (weep, weep. sigh*) and well somebody's gotta watch Viva. Rather, Viva's gotta watch some body because this girl likes to look at people all day long. On the subway she does the cutest thing. She just stare.. S T A R E S and COOS at the person sitting next to me/her. Until the person looks over and smiles or starts talking to her. Sometimes the New Yorker is a little weirded-out by being big eyed by a baby, but then... they buckle. How could you resist a cooing Viva? nobody can!
Oh wait, where was I? oh yeah so we met the new caretaker. She lives four blocks from the high school I teach at. Great, right? And she has been watching babies of teachers from my high school for many, many years. So, she comes with great recommendation. Glen and I are relieved... whew. We're lucky so I shouldn't be so sad about leaving little V. I guess it's natural.
What else can we update you on? Oh. Viva now sleeps in her own room! whoa. big news.
yup. her own room. Her hammock is in the room next door, no longer next to our bed. She likes the privacy and insists that we knock before we enter. sheesh.
Here are a few pictures for you!
Hi! Here I am, motoring along being a baby!
Hi! Like my overalls? I do!
This is me in my purple hamster hat falling asleep with mom. Literally, Falling. Asleep.
No, really. I like sleeping upside down.
See? I am SO content. Bye see you next time!
Love,
Viva Minnie
ps. grandparents- before you get all worried, stop. That's not how we really carry Viva around, all backwards and upside down. We only do that on Saturdays.
